This instructions explain how to repair the TFT inverter of the Fujitsu-Siemens-Computer (FSC) Amilo PA 2510 laptop.
Pre-cautions: it's always a good idea to be able to retrace your repairing steps. Just put some tape upside down your desk and put every screw and every other part in order on that tape and write down from where you removed it.
Remove all the marked screws. There are many different types, so remember step 1! Also remove three screws at the back side of the laptop case.
This is where you want to go, the laptop computer face down, without casing and display.
You have to remove all the screws in the battery compartment. The one on the lower right in the picture losens a seemingly insignificant part.
This is where things get tricky. The bottom case is still attached with a last screw below the display cable (blue dot) You have to remove the fan and the bracket (red square/dot) that holds the cables to get to that screw.
To remove the fan you have to bend the casing and remove the bracket held by two screws at the back.
The laptop without casing and display.
The display removed from the laptop. Use a cutter to get to the screws.
The inverter is at the bottom of the display-case. If your laptop still doesn't work by now, you don't have to look any further. Just have fun with a new machine instead.
